VOC Treatment Is Essential for Sustainable Photovoltaic Manufacturing
As the global renewable energy market and China’s photovoltaic industry continue to expand, photovoltaic panel manufacturing has become a key contributor to carbon neutrality and sustainable development goals.
The demand for photovoltaic raw materials such as silver powder, conductive silver paste, silicone resins, and electronic chemicals is increasing rapidly. However, the manufacturing process generates significant volumes of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which require effective treatment before atmospheric discharge.
As a professional photovoltaic raw material exhaust gas treatment manufacturer, CADAIR provides advanced VOC treatment systems specifically designed for photovoltaic material production facilities.
Project Background: Betely Photovoltaic Material Manufacturing Facility
Betely New Materials is a Chinese manufacturer specializing in advanced materials used across the photovoltaic, electronics, and new energy industries.
Its major products include:
- Photovoltaic Silver Powder
- Conductive Silver Paste
- Conductive Materials
- Silicone Resins
- Precious Metal Catalysts
- Electronic Chemicals
As production capacity increased, the facility generated large volumes of low-concentration VOC emissions and required a reliable industrial air pollution control system.
Following technical evaluations, Betely selected CADAIR, a professional photovoltaic manufacturing exhaust gas treatment provider, to design and install its VOC treatment system.
Project Parameters
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Air Volume | 80,000 m³/h |
| VOC Concentration | 500 mg/m³ |
| Exhaust Characteristics | High Air Volume, Low Concentration |
| Main Components | Silane, Xylene, Ethanol, Chlorobenzene |
This represents a typical VOC emission profile for photovoltaic material manufacturing facilities.
CADAIR VOC Treatment Solution
After detailed site investigations and process analysis, CADAIR designed the following system:
Pretreatment + Zeolite Rotor Concentration + Three-Chamber RTO
This technology is widely applied in:
- Photovoltaic Silver Powder VOC Treatment
- Conductive Silver Paste VOC Treatment
- Photovoltaic Adhesive VOC Treatment
- Electronic Chemical VOC Treatment
- Silicone Material VOC Control
- New Energy Material VOC Treatment
Process Flow
Step 1: Exhaust Gas Collection
VOC emissions generated during production are captured through a centralized enclosed collection system.
Step 2: Pretreatment
The pretreatment unit removes:
- Dust particles
- Acidic gases
- Harmful contaminants
to protect downstream equipment and improve system reliability.
Step 3: Zeolite Rotor Adsorption and Concentration
The pretreated gas enters the zeolite rotor concentrator.
VOC molecules are adsorbed onto the zeolite media while clean air is discharged.
Concentration Ratio
12:1
The original airflow of 80,000 m³/h is concentrated into approximately 6,700 m³/h of high-concentration VOC gas, significantly reducing RTO operating costs.
Step 4: Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO)
The concentrated VOC stream enters a three-chamber regenerative thermal oxidizer.
Operating temperature exceeds:
800°C
VOC pollutants are oxidized into:
- Carbon Dioxide (CO₂)
- Water Vapor (H₂O)
allowing safe and environmentally compliant discharge.
Treatment Performance
Following commissioning, the system achieved stable operation.
Third-party testing results showed:
| Parameter | Result |
|---|---|
| NMHC | ≤30 mg/m³ |
| VOC Removal Efficiency | ≥95% |
| Compliance Status | Passed |
The project complies with relevant emission standards for synthetic resin, coating, ink, adhesive, and industrial air pollution control sectors.
